Playing Memory not to forget.
Together with my son I often go visit my grandparents. Every time we play the game Memory with my grandfather. He suffers from “lost memories.”
In the game you search for picture pairs, taking turns. Sometimes my grandfather can find a couple, but most of the times he doesn’t. He remembers a lot from a long time ago, but forgets what he just did and what just happened. He asks the same questions over and over again. My grandmother takes care of him, and she gives him the same answers every day.
Our pile of pairs is mounting while his is shrinking. My son often helps him find a pair. If only we could give him back his memory this way. Because we are memories: the fewer memories we have, the shorter life becomes.
